Pretty Swedish balcony with wooden details *in Sweden, these details
are called Carpenter's Joy*
Julia at Hooked on Houses is holding a "Hooked on party" today. Since I have so many things that I am practically crazy about, I really want to participate. The first thing that I am going to show you is some details from Sweden. I am originally Swedish *however living in London* and my heart is really beating for Sweden at the moment. I am longing for the pretty scenery and the sleepy villages, so I thought I'll show you some photos I took this summer, when I had little walk around one of my favorite coastal towns of the Swedish West Coast, Lysekil.
Pretty picket fence.
Pretty picket fence.
Lysekil is a town, being mentioned as early as in the 16th century as an important fishing village. Around 1850 it became a hot spot for the Swedish socialites, who came here for recreation. I love the houses, you can find anything from massive wooden villas from the late 19th century to little pretty cottages.
I really long for summer when I can take another walk with my camera in Lysekil.

Hi Mia,
Thanks for the lovely comment you left on my blog :)
Lysekil looks beautiful and I can see why you love it so much! Thank you so much for introducing me to a new place.
Have great weekend!

Beautiful photos...it's like taking a vacation! I LOVE London!
I do like the scroll work and think it really adds a nice finishing touch!
Thanks for sharing!

Oh, I can see why you're longing for it. How lovely! I've never been to Sweden, but this makes me want to visit.
Thanks so much for joining my blog party today and showing us these!
Wow, beautiful pictures! Okay, I'm adding Sweden to my list of must-see places- especially Lysekil. What a charming litle town.
How lovely! Thanks for sharing. I must go to Sweden! I went to Ikea today and I drive a Volvo. Think I could become an honorary Swede?
Lysekil is making it to my "Must Go" list. Thanks for sharing it.
Hey
Found you via Violet Posy's blog. You're blog is lovely, nice to have 'found' you.
Lysekil looks stunning.
Beautiful homes..., I'm hooked on All pretty coastal towns, and seem to be a bit obsessed with trying to find the most beautiful one (here in the US). I saw some cute ones in England like St. Ives, but have never been to Sweden.
Sweden is now on my must see list! Beautiful photos!
Thanks for stopping by my place.
Delightful! I hope to someday see Sweden myself, and Norway...which is where my Dad's Mother was from. It looks lovely, and I will remember your recommendation when I do finally get there! We all long for home don't we, I long to see my favorite places of my childhood.
Thanks for the comment. Good idea with the 365 challenge. I tried it last year and really struggled through it. Needless to say, it didn't last long but maybe had I chosen themes as you did, I could have stuck with it.
Fint det är i Lysekil! Har aldrig varit där
Wow, what beautiful images! Now you have done it, you made me add another destination to places I want to go to: Sweden!! Nice, nice photos!
merci du passage et du commentaire
A quaint, tranquil, beautiful town that look that much better because of the photography. Just gorgeous!
What a lovely place! (I want to live there now.) Your photography is wonderful.
I'm so happy you left me a comment because it made me discover your blog - which I LOVE. I LOVE Sweden! I've only been once, but I totally fell in love. We toured Stockholm and the surrounds for a few days...I want to visit Malmo, and now Lysekil when we return. And really, I want to spend a week or two one summer in one of those red-roofed, white clapboard-sided houses on a mostly deserted island and just relax with my family. I think that would be heaven. I'll be back! To browse more archives and see your current posts - love your photography!
Beautiful images! I can see why you are hooked on Lysekil. Now, I am going to go look at your frost photos!
I especially like the photo of the white building with the blue bordered windows. I've never been to Sweden, but somehow it seems to convey the image of Sweden to me.
What a pretty little town and beautiful photographs. I love the picket fence.
Fabulous photographs. Thaks for sharing them.
Sjuk make, tre gånger så jobbigt som sjuka barn!
Lider med dig!
Hoppas det ordnar sig och tack för dina värmande kommentarer!
